Performance Analysis of Non-Linear Integral Fast Terminal Sliding Mode Controller for Stability Enhancement of DC-DC Boost Converter Using Fuel Cell
This paper proposes a nonlinear fast terminal control law that works on poor regulating voltage, chattering problem, transient instability and robustness with load fluctuation for DC-DC boost converter using proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). In order to attaining the key features of nonlinear integral fast terminal sliding mode controller (NIFTSMC) a nonlinear sliding surface is designed that serves the objectives. To corroborate tracking of voltage, a mathematical model of boost converter and control law is formulated. Robustness of the controller with external noise and disturbance and load uncertainty is verified through the performance of proposed controller. Unknown parameters of dynamic model are predicted using adaptation law and stability and reachability of control law are ensured by laypunov function. Output voltage of proposed controller is compared with performance of other controllers. According to simulation output, NIFTSMC provides better response with regulated output voltage, small overshoot, less settling time, quick transient response and finite time convergence. It eliminates chattering problem and tracking error.
