Microgrid Dynamics Control: GA-Optimized LQR vs. ILQR Controller Comparison
This study compares Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and Integral Linear Quadratic Regulator (ILQR) controllers for dynamic power system stability. Using a Genetic Algorithm, we evaluate their response to step changes and impulse changes, focusing on steady-state error, overshoot, and rise time. The ILQR controller outperforms LQR with <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0 \%$</tex> steadystate error, <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3.24 \%$</tex> overshoot, and a 0.01 s rise time, indicating its superior precision and stability.
