An Electro-Energetic Guide for Planning & Operating of Port Systems
Energy and environmental planning of port systems must define specific strategies and implementation measures to improve energy efficiency. They must provide innovative solutions and short, medium and long-term requalification. Sustainability criteria must be aimed at converting all port equipment to zero emissions promoting the use of renewable energy. A guideline for the master plan of port systems must aim to meet all the minimum requirements that characterize the ideal system with which to compare the actual development of the port. Each port system, to be competitive in its geographical sector, must pursue objectives of high performance, functionality, continuity of service. The use of the overall electricity requirement and the entire electricity distribution in the port area must be managed in a single integrated vision as a “port-grid”.
