A New Design of Switched-Capacitor based Fault-Tolerant Boost Multilevel Inverter Topology
The reliability of the switched-capacitor (SC) based inverter topologies is becoming crucial due to the use of a higher number of components. Further, the devices connected in the charging loop suffer higher stress than other components of the topology due to higher losses caused by the charging currents. This paper proposes a new SC-based topology that can be configured in different modes of operation. The proposed topology has been analyzed for an open-circuit fault (OCF), and a fault-tolerant version of the proposed SC-based inverter topology has been designed based on this analysis. Simulation results obtained from MATLAB software have been discussed to show the effectiveness of the proposed topology.
