Numerical Analysis of Highly Birefringent Low Loss Nested Hollow Core Anti Resonant Fiber
This paper represents a high-performance hollow core anti-resonant fiber (HC-ARF) demonstrating exceptional potential for low-loss, single polarization high-power transmission applications. The fiber exhibits a polarization extinction ratio (PER) of 154 at 1.55 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mu\mathrm{m}$</tex> signifying minimal signal degradation due to polarization effects. Furthermore, it achieves expected low confinement loss of 0.06 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{dB}/\mathrm{m}$</tex> at 1.55 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mu\mathrm{m}$</tex> with a broad bandwidth of 110 nm, enabling efficient light transmission. Additionally, it maintains a higher birefringence value of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$6.7\times 10^{-4}$</tex>, which remains consistently above <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$1\times 10^{-4}$</tex> across a broad bandwidth of 130 nm, indicating minimal polarization mode dispersion and ensuring excellent signal integrity. These combined key properties of this HC-ARF fiber enables the fiber for various applications demanding high-power transmission with minimal signal distortion, including high-power laser delivery, low-latency data transmission.
