Enhancing Performance of Bidirectional Charging System for V2G and G2V in Smart Grid

Enhancing grid stability and efficiency can be achieved by integrating renewable energy sources (REs), such as solar and wind power (PV), with the electrical system. This research paper explores the optimization of bidirectional charging systems for Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Grid-to-Vehicle (G2V) interactions in a smart power grid framework. By leveraging bidirectional charging technology, electric vehicles (EVs) can both consume energy from the grid and return surplus electricity to it during peak demand, thereby supporting grid balancing and reducing dependence on non-renewable sources. Our study focuses on the performance enhancement of these systems by analyzing various integration strategies with renewable energy sources. We propose effective approaches to improve the efficiency of energy transfer, manage energy storage, and ensure stable grid operation. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvements in system reliability, energy utilization, and cost-effectiveness. The results emphasize the potential of advanced bidirectional charging systems to optimize renewable energy utilization and support a more resilient, sustainable smart grid infrastructure.
