Numerical investigation of a novel 10.5 kWc Staircase-Shaped PV Structure

Wind-induced loads and vortex shedding pose significant challenges to the widespread adoption of photovoltaic (PV) systems. These phenomena can result in severe structural damage and economic losses due to unexpected aeroelastic responses. This study proposes a novel PV structure design to mitigate these issues. By employing a staircase-like configuration, the proposed design aims to reduce wind loads and suppress vortex formation. Computational analysis demonstrates the superior performance of this innovative structure compared to conventional designs in terms of wind load reduction and vortex suppression. The findings suggest that this approach holds promise for enhancing the durability and reliability of PV systems in windy regions.
