A Study on the Direction of Chromesthesia Therapy Using the Waves of Color and Sound
The purpose of this study is to propose a direction for synesthetic therapy using waves by exploring the correlation between color and sound. Although color and sound are perceived through different senses, they both possess wave forms and thus share a unique relationship that influences each other. This research investigates the potential of utilizing this interaction between color and sound in a therapeutic context. To this end, the study examines the correlation between color and sound and their wave aspects both domestically and internationally, and presents the possibilities and limitations of synesthetic therapy using chromesthetic waves. he findings of the study are as follows: First, color and sound have a physical dynamic relationship of wave multiples, specifically 2^40, and these waves resonate with and influence each other. Second, color and sound can resonate and influence each other through complementary relationships (harmonic relationships) according to the principle of complementarity. Therefore, it is feasible to integrate color and sound into simultaneous application in integrative art therapy. Third, although research on the specific frequencies of color and sound and their effects on the body and mind is still in its early stages, further study could make them significant tools in synesthetic therapy, contributing to advancements in both science and medicine. Discussions on the correlation between color and sound provide an important theoretical foundation for color and sound therapy, solidify the academic identity of wave-based art therapy, and are expected to significantly contribute to the development of subsequent research on wave-based therapies.
