SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES OF SULFUR-CONTAINING AMINOMETHOXY COMPOUNDS
Objective of the study: Synthesis of new sulfur-containing Mannich bases based on 1-octylthiohexan-2-ol, secondary amines (diethylamine, dibutylamine, piperidine, morpholine, hexamethyleneimine) and formaldehyde and study of their antimicrobial properties. Materials and methods: A three-component Mannich reaction was used to synthesize the target products. Elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry were used to determine the structure of the obtained compounds. The disk diffusion method was used to study the antimicrobial activity of the synthesized Mannich bases. Results: It was found that the synthesized compounds have high antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (S. aureus, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, K. pneu-moniae), as well as yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida in comparison with standards (rivanol, furacilin, carbolic acid, chloramine). Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, the synthesized compounds are proposed for use as antimicrobial drugs.
