Optimizing Community Energy with Smart Hardware Integration in Offline Microgrid Systems

This paper introduces a simple yet powerful plan to bring uninterrupted electricity to local communities by offering an optimized IoT-based off-grid microgrid system. The project integrates diverse renewable sources-solar, Aeromine (wind), and piezo-tech-into a micro-grid to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The integration of the IoT (Internet of Things) based monitoring system, such as Blynk application, allows for remote monitoring and control of the microgrid, providing a timely response to any potential issues. Additionally, our advanced battery technology not only improves energy storage efficiency but also enhances the reliability and stability of the microgrid. A backup generator is used to ensure the supply of electricity when all the other sources are down, ensuring a day-and-night power supply for the load demand. Finally, by incorporating the HOMER (Hybrid Optimization of Multiple Electric Renewables) software suite, we optimized our microgrid design for maximum reliability and efficiency. The findings highlight critical hardware choices, including a storage power capital cost of BDT 10,850,000 and a wind power investment of BDT 6,000,000. The energy mix ensures efficient production throughout the day, meeting a load demand of 166 kW/day with real-time monitoring functionalities. This approach offers a promising model for large-scale sustainable electrification, advancing community electrification strategies.
