Empirical Study of the Structure of the Motivational-Value Component of Adult Personal Maturity (Aged 35–45)

It is noted that the personal maturity of an individual is the key to his ability to self-development and achieve life goals, and the period of 35–45 years is perceived in society as the middle of life, the stage of achieving the maximum level of development of all personal qualities and at the same time as a point of new reference associated with the need to adapt to changing living conditions and leveling new psychological challenges. The motivational-value component of an individual’s personality plays a significant role in the effectiveness of overcoming these challenges. The author represents and substantiates its structure, including the level of development of motives for activity (work, training, communication) and self-development; a system of personal relationships and a system of values; the level of formation of a life perspective and the ability to independently find the meaning of one’s life (synergy); the level of development of the ability to self-regulate individual states, self-understanding and self-esteem. Additionally, the article outlines the stages of development of the motivational-value component of personal maturity, which include the self-evaluating stage, the self-aware stage, and the self-correcting stage. It also characterizes various groups of factors influencing this development.

Abstract

The article reflects the results of a theoretical and empirical study of the psychological features of the development of the motivational-value component of adult personal maturity.
