Factors affecting the optimal global population
The world population soared dramatically in the contemporary era, reaching approximately 8 billion in 2024. People wonder what the optimal global population should be as the population grows. The conception of an optimal global population is diverse and controversial. This paper does not insist on calculating the optimal global population but attempts to analyze the relevant factors affecting the optimal global population. Specifically, this paper first analyzes the benefits and disadvantages that may arise from the increase in population size. It then further analyzes the factors that may affect the optimal global population from the perspective of population quality. Finally, based on the analysis, it is concluded that the quality and structure of the population are important factors affecting the optimal global population.
