Clinical application of laser speckle flowgraphy in ophthalmology
Relevance. The issue of eye blood flow’s quantitative assessment is a current problem. Purpose. To present information regarding the laser speckle flowgraphy clinical application in different ophthalmological diseases and describe the main indicators that are used to assess eye blood flow. Material and methods. A systematic analysis of scientific publications was carried out. Its included domestic and foreign authors on the resources of PubMed, Medline, eLibrary, as well as dissertations and textbooks devoted to using laser speckle flowgraphy in diagnosing. Results. Laser speckle flowgraphy is a highly accurate, non-invasive method for quantifying ocular blood flow. However, there are a number of unresolved problems: the lack of a normative database, difficulties in comparing the obtained indicators, the small number of groups of studies. Conclusion. Further study of the laser speckle flowgraphy method is necessary with a view to introducing it into widespread practice as a screening method for diagnosing eye diseases associated with impaired blood supply. Key words: laser speckle flowgraphy, choroidal circulation, hypoperfusion, hyperperfusion, ocular circulation
