Ruška latinska kronika (po 1764)
The parish office in Ruše (near Maribor) keeps in its archive a manuscript chronicle in small format, written by a local Jožef Avguštin Meznerič, called Marian. It is in Latin and consists of 187 written double-sided pages. An index was subsequently added at the end of the 19th century. The chronicle can be divided into two parts according to its content, with the strict caesura being the year 1645, when the Latin school was founded in Ruše. Before the Jesuit College and Gymnasium were established in Maribor (1758), the Latin school in Ruše was the most important publicly accessible educational institution in Lower Styria. The chronicle was written shortly after 1764, when the Latin school in Ruše (apparently) ceased to function.
