Analysis of DC-DC Boost Converter Using Dual Current Flows
Power-management integrated circuits (PMICs) are using more affordable tiny inductors as a result of the growing need for small, low-cost electronics. However, low efficiency results from a small inductor's parasitic DC resistance (RDCR), which shortens the battery's lifespan and may also contribute to temperature issues with mobile devices. Because of the large inductor current, these problems are especially problematic when using a typical boost converter (CBC) to attain a high output voltage. Furthermore, other problems deteriorate with increasing output voltage, including considerable output voltage ripple, conversion-ratio limits, and overlap losses. This study presented a high-voltage boost converter with dual-current flows (HVDF) to address these problems.
