Solar-Powered Bicycle: A Pathway to Sustainable Urban Transportation
With the rising prices of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas globally, there is an urgent need to find sustainable alternatives that can conserve these natural resources. A solar-powered bicycle presents a viable substitute for fuel-powered vehicles, utilizing solar energy to charge the battery and generate the necessary voltage to operate the electric vehicle. This study aims to develop a solar-powered electric bicycle (e-bike) capable of replacing traditional fuel-powered vehicles. The model comprises a motor, battery, and controller. Specifically, a BLDC motor has been implemented on the rear wheel, with the controller connected to both the battery and motor to regulate speed and current. The bicycle can be powered by pedaling or by the battery. The development of solar e-bikes offers a promising sustainable alternative to conventional vehicles, addressing the escalating energy crisis effectively.
