Performance Assessment of SSA-based FOIPDF Controller in Microgrid Systems for Load-frequency Control
In this article there is an introduction to the salp swarm algorithm (SSA) with FOIPDF controller for the refinement of the frequency response of an off-grid microgrid system. The SSA technique is based on the food-capturing behaviour of a marine creature, Slap. The proposed multi-microgrid system works with different conventional energy sources like Solar, Wind, Fuel-cell, Microturbines, etc. The dynamic response of the SSA-based FOIPDF controller indicates its effectiveness over conventional PID & FOPID controllers. The proposed algorithm is also compared with the GA & WOA algorithm. Under the effect of various energy-storage systems (ESSs), including hydrogen aqua equalizer-based fuel cell systems (HAE-FC), flywheel energy systems (FESs), and battery energy systems (BESs), the performance of the suggested technique is investigated under stochastic fluctuations in load, wind, and photovoltaic power.
