Direction of Arrival Estimation for Mixed Signals Based on the Spatial Difference Toeplitz Algorithm

In this paper, authors propose a spatial difference Toeplitz algorithm for effective direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of mixed signals that contain both uncorrelated and coherent components. Unlike existing methods, this algorithm first applies the MUSIC algorithm to obtain the DOA of uncorrelated signals. Then, it uses the spatial difference method to obtain a covariance matrix containing only coherent signal information, and finally, it employs the Toeplitz algorithm for decoherence processing. This approach increases the number of detectable targets, improves aperture utilization, enhances direction-finding accuracy, and offers better noise resistance. Simulation analysis demonstrates the algorithm's effectiveness in determining the DOA of mixed signals.
