Investigation of a Novel Optimized PID Controller for Load Frequency Control of Renewable Energy Based Micro Grid

This paper offers a detailed analysis of optimizing Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers for load frequency control (LFC) in renewable energy-based micro grids. As renewable sources like wind and solar become more integrated, maintaining frequency stability has become a key challenge. Traditional PID controllers often fail to adapt to these variable inputs. This study investigates the water cycle optimization technique to enhance PID controller performance, addressing the dynamic and unpredictable nature of renewable energy. Using simulations and real-time data analysis, the paper evaluates the optimized PID controller's performance across different conditions, highlighting improvements in frequency regulation and system stability compared to standard PI & PID methods. This research provides valuable insights for developing robust control strategies in renewable energy micro grids.
