Evaluation and Analysis of Polarization Dependent Polymer Optical Waveguide Characteristics

We design a measurement system to evaluate polarization dependent characteristics of polymer optical waveguides fabricated by the Mosquito method to be applied to a coupler between a single-mode fiber and silicon photonics chip. We observe the dependence of birefringence in single-mode polymer waveguides on their numerical aperture.

Abstract

We design a measurement system to evaluate polarization dependent characteristics of polymer optical waveguides fabricated by the Mosquito method to be applied to a coupler between a single-mode fiber and silicon photonics chip. We observe the dependence of birefringence in single-mode polymer waveguides on their numerical aperture.
