Power Factor Improvement Using Noble Techniques
This study examines how the rapid advancement of power semiconductor devices has resulted in the widespread use of power electronic systems in a variety of industries, such as traction systems, commercial, residential, and aerospace. Power semiconductor converter devices introduce distortion to the line through the electrical current they use, which raises Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and lowers Power Factor (PF). As such, there is always a need to improve power factor and reduce line current harmonics. Therefore, a circuit for Power Factor Correction (PFC) must be designed using an active filtering approach and incorporate a boost converter positioned across the load. This approach seeks to minimize switching losses while simultaneously improving the quality of the current.
