Comparetive Analysis, Performance And Recommendations of a Power Generating Renewable Energy Based Systems
This paper analyzes the modelling of the wind energy system (WES), photo voltaic power system (PVPS) and hybrid of wind-PV-battery system (HES) using the System Advisor Model (SAM). The simulation analysis is done for the location of Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar (23.15440N, 72.66570S), Gujarat, India. The simulation analysis is performed for 2MW renewable energy power plants. The WES and PVPS is modelled with various permutations and combinations of climatic conditions and load profiles. The comparative analysis is done for various quantities like levelized cost of energy (LCoE), AC annual energy, capacity factor, power balance, energy spectrum for PVPS and WES etc. The detailed analysis modelling and design considerations are performed. The sizing for PVPS, WES, and HES is calculated and analyzed using SAM software.
