Abstract

Energy storage devices have been fascinated in recent years due to their fast charge/discharge characteristics, high power density, longer cyclic life and improved energy density than conventional dielectric capacitors. Metal sulphides and oxides exhibited high performance electrode materials for electrochemical storage devices, fuel cells, water splitting and Li ion batteries. <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$CoFe_{2}O_{4}/rGO/Bi_{2}S_{3}$</tex> nanocomposite demonstrated improved electrochemical performance adding additional synergistic effects to the system. Further, it exhibited significantly high specific capacitance (Cs) value of 518 at scan rate of 5 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{mV}/\mathrm{s}$</tex>. Moreover, the nanocomposite exhibited energy density (ED) of 19.56 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{Wh}/kg$</tex> and power density (PD) of 516 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathrm{W}/\text{kg}$</tex> at a 5 <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{mV}/\mathrm{s}$</tex>. The innovative <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$CoFe_{2}O_{4}/rGO/Bi_{2}S_{3}$</tex> nanocomposite became a promise for real-world use in supercapacitors due to their numerous benefits, including nontoxicity, plentiful resource availability, and cheap cost.
