Empowering Trust: Evaluating Cyber-Security Standards in UAE's Online Banking and Education to Strengthen Consumer Confidence

The rapid growth of online banking in today's digital landscape has brought convenience to customers, but it also presents challenges related to cybersecurity and consumer trust. This empirical study focuses on the banking sector in the UAE, a technologically advanced region in the Middle East, to examine the perceived standard of cybersecurity in online banking and its impact on consumer trust. By analyzing data from employees in two major banks, the study explores factors influencing consumer trust and cybersecurity perceptions. The literature review emphasizes the importance of security and privacy perceptions in shaping consumer trust, drawing from studies in different contexts. The research methodology employs a descriptive survey to gather data and establish a strong positive correlation between cybersecurity perceptions and consumer trust. The study's findings carry significant implications for the UAE banking industry, policymakers, and academia by guiding strategies to enhance security measures and foster customer trust. The research contributes to developing best practices for cybersecurity in online banking, benefiting financial institutions both regionally and globally. However, the study acknowledges limitations related to sample size and generalizability, suggesting potential areas for future research to expand the scope and depth of understanding in this critical domain of online banking security and consumer trust.
