Power Management Comparison in DC -DC Converters For Electric Vehicles

Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) power management systems include DC-DC converters, which are typically difficult to design. SEPIC Converters are More complex design and more components are required than buck or boost converters. Less efficient than basic buck or boost designs. Flyback Converter has Higher voltage stress on components. Lower efficiency than non-isolated converters. This paper compares and studies various bidirectional DC-DC converter topologies. Two topologies under consideration are half-bridge (HB) converters and buck boost (BB) converters. comparison study is accomplished through graphs, with the relevant variables being plotted against the output voltage and output power. wide output voltage requirements, which are common for applications for power management. BB Converters More complex control circuit compared to buck or boost converters. Typically less efficient than a pure buck or boost converter. HB Converters are Appropriate for largescale battery management in systems like solar power inverters or electric vehicle (EV) battery systems. Half-bridge converters are frequently the preferred option for a wide variety of electric vehicle applications because they typically offer superior performance.
