Revolutionizing Skin Cancer Detection with Advanced YOLOv9 Deep Learning Models

Skin cancer could be a common and possibly lethal condition, highlighting the basic requirement for exact and quick discovery procedures. Later propels in profound learning have appeared to guarantee expanding the exactness of skin cancer discovery, permitting for prior conclusion and treatment. This work investigates the use of advanced deep learning techniques, notably the YOLOv9 algorithm, to improve object recognition in skin cancer categorization. Our dataset includes a wide range of skin disorders, including Actinic Keratosis, Basal Cell Carcinoma, Dermatofibroma, Melanoma, Pigmented Benign Keratosis, Seborrheic Keratosis, Squamous Cell Carcinoma, Vascular Lesions, and Nevus. Using the YOLOv9 method, we significantly improved detection metrics. The data give an F1 confidence curve of 0.56, a precision confidence of 0.99, a recall confidence of 0.99, and a precision-recall confidence of 0.83. All these metrics prove the high accuracy of the algorithm in skin cancer identification and classification. This has important implications for the research: applying deep learning algorithms of the latest generation, such as YOLOv9, can drastically raise skin cancer detection accuracy. Future studies should focus on the improvement of these methodologies, extension of the dataset, and integration of multi-modal data for even better diagnosis accuracy. This step will help in a breakthrough to better outcomes for patients by detecting skin cancer at an earlier stage with accuracy.
