ELD and LFC Combined Investigation in a Multi-Area Power System Under Dynamics

In relation to the Economic load dispatch (ELD), this paper presents research on load frequency control (LFC) of a three area power system based on several producing stations. Using a noble three degree of freedom (3-DOF) controller, both the LFC and ELD actions are obtained on a same platform with a 2% step load perturbation. The controller benefits from a highly accessible area since, in accordance with its operation, the relevant membership function generates a wide control action, this controller manages the extreme power system uncertainty with ease. In comparison to the typical PID controller, the 3-DOF controller provides better control performances. This study has employed a novel Dandelion Optimizer Algorithm (DOA) for optimal gain formulation of this 3-DOF controller, since the controller's results are primarily dependent on the selection of correct parameters. By comparing the simulated replies and outcomes of the original GA and PSO algorithms, the optimal property of the proposed DOA approaches has also been investigated. Ultimately, the application of the DOA designed 3-DOF controller is found to be significantly more effective in obtaining LFC and ELD in a typical power system situation.
