Performance Characterization and Link Budget Analysis for DVB-S2/S2X Waveform

Satellite communication offers the advantages of ubiquitous coverage and last-mile connectivity. These advantages of SATCOM are further ameliorated when communication is established using DVB-S2/S2X waveform as it provides anexcellent spectral efficiency. However, in a practical scenario optimum communication link performance using satellite is achieved when myriad channel losses and system impairments are considered with appropriate link budgeting. An analysis to determine the sensitivity of DVBS2/S2X waveforms due to the effects of link budget parameters helps to characterize the baseband module. It will further aid in designing a robust DVB-S2/S2X based satellite communication system.
