Analysis of Performance Metrics in Dual Input Dual Output DC-DC Converters for Hydrogen-Powered Electric Vehicles
A thorough study of an existing dual input dual output (DIDO) DC-DC converter intended for use in electric vehicles is presented in this conference paper. Efficient power management systems are becoming more and more necessary as electric car technology advances. The chosen DIDO converter, currently used in electric cars, is put through a thorough assessment process to determine how well it performs, pinpoint areas that require development, and offer insightful information to the community. This study explores the converter’s efficiency, dependability, and flexibility under various operating conditions using simulations and real-world experimentation. The results are intended to offer a more comprehensive grasp of the converter’s capabilities and constraints, ultimately aiding in the continuous improvement of power management systems for electric cars with the help of this developed converter, which combines a Hydrogen fuel cell and a battery, two output ports that may supply EV loads—a DC motor and an auxiliary load with respective ratings of 72V and 24V—can receive boost and buck voltages. A system efficiency of about 94% is attained when the suggested converter is used in battery charging and discharging mode. Analysis and comparison of the converter’s performance with different DIDO topologies are done. With MATLAB-Simulink, the converter is simulated, and the outcomes are verified.
