Research on Doppler Shift Compensation for LEO Satellites in NTN
This article first analyzes the process of Doppler compensation implemented by UE, which is based on GNSS position information and satellite ephemeris information according to the 3Gpp protocol. To address the issue of excessive dependence of UE on GNSS in this approach, this paper introduced a new processing method, which involves pre-compensating for significant Doppler frequency offsets by satellite-mounted base stations, utilizing satellite ephemeris and beam position data, while UE estimates Doppler deviation based on cell synchronization signals and channel estimations. Additionally, the processing flow for this method is outlined.
