Field-Size Converter for Edge Coupling of Multimode LD to Thin Film Waveguide

An inverse-taper comb structure is proposed and designed to couple a visible multimode LD to a 150-nm-thick Si-N waveguide. The efficiencies of field size conversion were predicted to be higher than -0.02 dB for red, green, and blue LDs.

Abstract

An inverse-taper comb structure is proposed and designed to couple a visible multimode LD to a 150-nm-thick Si-N waveguide. The efficiencies of field size conversion were predicted to be higher than -0.02 dB for red, green, and blue LDs.
