Проблема формирования древних приморских культур Северной Камчатки

The subject of the paper is the problem of the emergence and development of the maritime cultures of Northern Kamchatka. The author discusses issues of the origin, localization, and chronology of the ancient seaside sites in the area. The early seaside adaptation probably dates back to the Early Neolithic. The oldest sea mammal hunters site was the Ust-Palana (1st millennium BC). The origin its inhabitants of was probably associated with the appearance of Eskimo-Aleut groups on this part of the coast and with the formation of a mixed population. In the second half of the 1st millennium AD, a group of Tevi archaeological sites (one of the early variant of the ancient Koryak culture) spread along the northwestern coast. The group of the Tigil sites (late 1st- 2nd millennia AD) probably belonged to a mixed Itelmen-Koryak population. Most of the Koryak settlements in Northwestern Kamchatka referred to the beginning of the 2nd millennium AD. Northern Kamchatka was characterized by a less marked maritime adaptation, which was related to a more varied economy of the population.
