Simultaneous photon blockade and bunching in giant atom-cavity system

Abstract We propose an innovative model predicated on giant atom-cavity system, wherein three cavity modes are interconnected via nearest-neighbor photon tunneling, and a giant atom is simultaneously coupled with two single-mode cavities on each side. This model demonstrates both photon blockade and photon bunching effects simultaneously. Specifically, when the giant atom is weakly driven, the central cavity displays unconventional photon blockade with <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>g</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>b</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> <mml:mo>≈</mml:mo> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> <mml:msup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo>−</mml:mo> <mml:mn>5.97</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:msup> </mml:math> , while the side cavities exhibit photon bunching effects with <mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" overflow="scroll"> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>g</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>a</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> <mml:mo>=</mml:mo> <mml:msubsup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>g</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mi>c</mml:mi> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>2</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> </mml:mrow> </mml:msubsup> <mml:mo stretchy="false">(</mml:mo> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> <mml:mo stretchy="false">)</mml:mo> <mml:mo>≈</mml:mo> <mml:mn>1</mml:mn> <mml:msup> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>0</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> <mml:mrow> <mml:mn>4.85</mml:mn> </mml:mrow> </mml:msup> </mml:math> due to the quantum interference and the anharmonicity of energy eigenvalues.
