Statistical and sensitivity analysis of MHD Casson Nanofluid with convective boundary conditions on a stretching surface

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to analyze the optimization of MHD Casson Nanofluid with convective boundary conditions over a stretching sheet by Response Surface Methodology. The governing equations transformed into the system of nonlinear ODEs (Ordinary differential equations) using similarity transformation and then solved by 3-stage Lobatto IIIA in Matlab routine bvp4c. The response of different physical parameters on the skin friction, reduced Nusselt number, reduced Sherwood number, velocity profile, temperature profile and nanoparticle concentration profile are examined through graphs. The enhancement in the values of stretching parameter, Casson parameter caused the decrement in temperature profile and Conversely, for increment in magnetic parameter, radiation parameter, local Eckert number, thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters. The maximum value of skin friction occurred for increased value of stretching parameter. The value of response function (reduced Nusselt number) decreased at the values of local Eckert number, thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters increased and decrement in radiation parameter. Skin friction show negative sensitivity towards Casson parameter and positive sensitivity towards magnetic parameter and stretching parameter.
