Confirmation of pro-wound healing egg white peptides LVEEY and QVPLW and analysis of their mechanism of action: A proteomic analysis

Egg white peptides have the potential to accelerate the healing of skin wounds. However, the peptide sequences and structures in which they function, as well as their molecular mechanisms of action remain unclear. In this study, two egg white peptide sequences and structures (LVEEY and QVPLW) with wound healing-promoting effects were identified by HSFs scratch assay . Transwell and MTS assays revealed that LVEEY and QVPLW could promote wound healing by increasing HSFs migration and proliferation. The expression of the PI3K-AKT and MAPK pathways was regulated by LVEEY and QVPLW, according to Western Blot and proteomic studies. Therefore, we believe LVEEY and QVPLW promote HSFs proliferation and migration by upregulating PI3K-AKT and MAPK signaling pathway protein expression , ultimately promoting wound healing . These findings provided new insights into the regulation of signaling pathways when egg white peptides exert pro-wound healing effects. It also offered a theoretical foundation and a deeper comprehension of the molecular mechanism underlying the egg white peptides’ wound healing-promoting properties.
