Assessing the quality of life of the Chinese population
This study uses principal component analysis (PCA) to assess the quality of life in 31 provinces in China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) from 2018 to 2022. A multidimensional indicator system including economic, social and environmental aspects is used. By applying PCA, the dimensionality of the data is reduced and the main components that significantly affect the quality of life of the population are identified. This method allows for a comprehensive assessment and reveals that, despite the improvement of the quality of life in different provinces, significant regional differences remain.
