Gestión de los servicios de salud y migraciones. Una mirada a la configuración de los modelos sanitarios en el acceso a la atención de los migrantes
The disease as an ethnographic entity in non-native populations has marked epidemiological interest for health systems. It is not until the second decade of the 21st century that the configuration of these systems as elements that condition care for the illness of immigrants in the host society is delved into. Therefore, the main objective of this research was to address a conceptual framework for understanding the structural characteristics of health systems as hegemonic health care models for the provision of services to the foreign and immigrant population. To this end, a narrative bibliographic review was designed based on the following research question: “What elements of European health models intervene in the configuration of access and consumption of health services in the immigrant population?” The bibliographic search was carried out in databases and repositories using natural and structured language. To purify the records, inclusion and exclusion criteria were stated and a thematic analysis of the texts was concluded, obtaining the following theoretical categories as main results: health models and migratory movements, health structures versus migration policies and the cultural construct of the immigrant as a consumer of services. As the main conclusion, we highlight that research that covers the field of study of migration and health must delve into the most organizational aspects of health systems as models of care, to understand the impregnation in them of both assimilationist and integrative policies towards the immigrants.
