“To Study The Ultrasonographic Findings In Patients Referred With Ocular Complaints”
This review explores the role of ultrasound in diagnosing ocular pathologies. Ultrasound, especially B-scan ultrasonography is praised for its accessibility, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and ability to provide high-resolution eye images, even in cases of opaque media. It demonstrates remarkable accuracy in distinguishing conditions like cataracts, retinal detachments, vitreoretinal disorders, and neoplastic lesions. Ocular ultrasound aids ophthalmologists in preoperative planning, reducing unnecessary procedures. While alternative imaging modalities exist, the review emphasizes the pivotal role of ultrasound in ocular evaluations, improving patient care and outcomes.
