The Educational Model of Mental Health for Primary and Middle School Students from the Perspective of Educational Psychology

From an educational psychology perspective, this study delves into the mental health education framework tailored for primary and secondary school students. In the empirical segment, a semester-long intervention study on mental health education was devised and executed, with comprehensive data gathered through questionnaire surveys, in-depth interviews, and behavioral observations. The outcomes of the research indicate that the educational psychology-based mental health education model for primary and secondary school students has yielded significant improvements across multiple domains. Specifically, it has enhanced students' mental well-being, bolstered their sense of self-efficacy, refined their social competencies, and augmented their emotional regulation skills. These discoveries affirm the efficacy of the educational psychology-grounded mental health education model, which emphasizes cognitive development, emotional management, and the cultivation of positive psychological traits, thereby precisely addressing mental health challenges faced by students. Moving forward, efforts should be directed towards further propagating this model, intensifying the dissemination of mental health education in primary and secondary schools, and ensuring robust support for students' holistic development.
