The Dilemmas of Family Education in County Regions: A Qualitative Investigation of Socioeconomic and Cultural Factors

As China continues to implement reforms in family education, disparities between urban and rural regions remain significant. This study employs a qualitative research design to investigate the complex challenges of family education in county-level regions of China. Through semi-structured interviews conducted with 27 participants, the research identifies significant barriers to effective family education. Key challenges include a limited parental understanding of holistic education, the persistence of traditional gender roles that restrict educational opportunities for girls, and the negative impact of parental absence due to economic migration. These findings highlight the need for targeted interventions that address the specific challenges of rural families.
