Analysis of causes and solutions for depression and anxiety in young people

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increase in the number of people suffering from depression and anxiety globally, especially among young people. Therefore, this paper analyzes the common causes of depression and anxiety among young people based on their own characteristics, and discusses the ways to solve this crisis based on cognitive behavior theory, ecosystem theory and social support theory, and finally verifies whether the commonly used contemporary therapies can solve this problem. The results showed that the depression and anxiety of adolescents came from social media, academic and social pressure, so it is necessary to solve the problem from the levels of family, education and society, ensuring the psychological health of young people.
