Obsesif-Kompulsif Bozukluğun Tedavisinde Bilişsel Davranışçı Terapi: Olgu Sunumu

In this case report, the treatment process of a 28-year-old woman diagnosed with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) with cognitive-behavioral therapy is discussed in detail. The client's obsessive-compulsive symptoms were especially focused on public transportation and cleaning. During the therapy process, it was aimed to understand the cognitive structure of the client and to work on the obsessions associated with her family. In the early stages of the treatment, the focus was on building and structuring trust, and general relaxation was achieved through strategies such as relaxation training. Then, obsessive-compulsive cognitions were addressed and awareness was created by informing the client about the nature of the disease and the treatment process. Therapy was initiated by selecting an appropriate behavior, and the client's active participation in the treatment process was ensured by assigning this behavior as homework. At the end of the therapy, regular monitoring and support were provided, focusing on the decrease in the client's obsessive-compulsive symptoms. This cognitive-behavioral therapy process aimed to help the client understand her obsessive-compulsive symptoms, develop effective strategies for these symptoms and integrate these strategies into her daily life.
