Current status of green infrastructure collapsed by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, and challenges and proposals for its restoration.

The 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake caused extensive damage not only to social infrastructure such as electricity, water, and roads, but also to green infrastructure (GI) such as forests and slopes of roads. The medium-to long-term restoration of GI is an important issue for the reconstruction of this region. This report summarizes: 1) the current status of damage to GI, mainly in areas where mountain sides have collapsed; 2) existing technologies and research in the field of revegetation technology that are useful for restoring GI that will support reconstruction; and 3) considerations for restoring GI in accordance with the Ishikawa Creative Reconstruction Plan.In particular, for the third point, in response to [Initiative 2: Noto Satellite Campus Concept] and [Initiative
