CONTEMPORARY FREEHAND PAINTING: PHILOSOPHICAL AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS

The purpose of this paper is to explore the philosophical and cultural connotations of Chinese freehand painting, and to analyze its status and role in contemporary art. Chinese freehand painting is not only a painting technique, but also a cultural attitude and spiritual pursuit, which is deeply influenced by Taoist thought, emphasizing the natural expression of emotions and far-reaching artistic conception in the style of painting. This paper traces the historical background of freehand painting, analyzes the influence of its cultural factors on contemporary art, and discusses the main philosophical ideas that influenced modern Chinese freehand painting. In addition, this paper discusses the influence of subjectivity and individuality in the artist’s creation, as well as the relationship between art and philosophy in the context of freehand painting. Through the philosophical and cultural analysis of freehand painting, the importance of freehand painting in modern art is revealed, and its evolution and development in the context of globalization are discussed.
