Design of a Microgrid for a Rural Area: A Systematic Approach
Microgrids are progressively emerging as a solution to the global energy crisis. Although their adoption is increasing, there are still challenges to the design and resilience of these systems. In this paper, a systematic approach is presented for designing a microgrid system for rural areas. The approach provides a logical process for designing an optimal microgrid using load analysis and estimation of available renewable energy resources. The results based on the systematic approach show that adapting the system to the specific energy needs and available resources increases the system's performance.
