Target Object Selection Scenario Classification in Adaptive Cruise Control Systems
The objective of driving assistance systems is to facilitate the driver's ability to perform routine driving tasks. The process of creating appropriate vehicle behavior can be divided into discrete steps that focus on specific tasks, such as avoiding obstacles and adapting speed to road conditions. Consequently, the information, including driving scenarios, is provided by the situation analysis component, which analyzes the situation in which both the vehicle and the operator are situated. In light of the ongoing advancement of automotive radar software, this research introduces a novel feature that enables the generation of radar signals tailored to specific driving scenarios and target objects. This case study also encompasses the entire process of developing a complex function with the objective of realizing adaptive cruise control for automobiles when the analyzed situation requires it. This process includes the creation of a suitable solution and structure, their definition, implementation in a real project through prototyping and testing in different ways, and finally, the declaration of readiness for integration into a real automobile. The outcomes of this case study are encouraging, as the prototype demonstrated the capacity to fulfill all the stipulated requirements and operational scenarios.
