Digital Twins: Adoption in Solar Panel System Construction

The construction industry faces significant challenges, including a skilled labour shortage exacerbated by traditional training methods and the increasing complexity of projects, In recent years, solar panel systems have become a popular sustainable solution for enhancing energy efficiency. This paper explores the potential of Digital Twins (DT) technology to revolutionize construction training and enhance operational efficiency. By integrating augmented reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), and real-time data analytics, DTs offer immersive training solutions that can better prepare workers for the demands of modern construction environments particular in solar panel system construction. The study highlights how DTs can facilitate safety training, improve material utilization, and optimize building performance. Despite the promise of DT technology, widespread adoption in the solar panel system construction and maintenance, primarily due to the industry's inherent complexities. This paper concludes that overcoming these barriers is essential for leveraging DTs to address labour shortages and improve training outcomes, ultimately leading to a more skilled workforce capable of meeting contemporary solar panel system construction challenges.
