A Survey of Applications of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in Wind Generation Research
In this paper, author presents a survey on the application of AHP in wind power generation. A literature search in Google Scholar, with qualifying publications identified, reviewed, and summarised. The main themes identified were analytic hierarchical process (AHP), AHP-Geographic Information Systems (GIS) combination, Fuzzy AHP and Fuzzy AHP-GIS. There has been a steady use of AHP from since 2004. In most of the publications, the AHP has been used on its own, even though the application of Fuzzy AHP and GIS tools have also featured substantially. Lastly, the usage of remarkably diverse type and number criteria was observed in these publications, with differing numbers and types of criteria among publications. The paper contributes to the discourse of multi-criteria decision analysis in the subject if renewable energy and serves as a resource for researchers interested in the application of AHP in power systems and wind power generation, in particular.
