Unifying the Data Highway: A Harmonized Telemetry Format for Driver Analytics
Various providers allow drivers to record telemetry data while driving in competitive racing, civil traffic or other specific scenarios. While a variety of software tools enable users to analyze recorded data, in most cases these programs do not allow the import of other telemetry formats, thus limiting their use. For this reason, this work aims to compare the most common telemetry recording file types in terms of their corresponding software and recording scope. A new generalized data structure named Harmonized Telemetry Format (HTF) is introduced, combining intersections between the formats.
