Mechatronic Power Control Design for PT6 Engine Test Stand
This document shows the design and implementation of a mechatronic control based on motion control strategy for the power lever of the PT6-61A engine located in a grounded test stand. Since test biofuel mixes are being developed in the facilities of the Air Maintenance Center (CAMAN), engine test stands require high angular position accuracy and real-time reference tracking. For such implementation, a motion control algorithm by means of a driver - servomotor assembly has been developed, aiming for high velocity response and high accuracy positioning. In addition, a mechanical assembly system was designed to create a direct connection between the mechatronic control and the FCU (Fuel Control Unit). It has a solidarity movement without backlash by means of a bellows type coupling and thanks to its slotted design it allows a movement tolerance in which the servo-motor can be located in the different coordinate axes. Moreover, a comparative study of controllers has been performed considering time response parameters, ITAE and IAE
